Kavi Film Screening 03/24/2010
SARSA hosted the screening of the Oscar-nominated short film "Kavi" tonight, welcoming director/writer Gregg Helvey to USC to speak with students. The film tells the story of modern day slavery and the absence of education in young Kavi's childhood. Following the feature, the director and a fellow producer fielded questions from the audience ranging from the significance of directorial choices to the reason for choosing the name Kavi. SARSA hopes to host more unique opportunities like this in the future! First Comedy Night! 02/23/2010
SARSA hosted its first ever Comedy Night on February 23rd! With Ground Zero as a fitting venue, the evening opened with great acts by Cameron Ernst, Danielle Bennett, Natalie Angiuli, and John Gudenzi. Prior to beginning the second half of the show, we raffled off an iPod shuffle and perfume set to a lucky winner. Comedians Baba ji and Rajeev Satyal kept the crowd laughing as the headline acts. Thanks to everyone who came out, and we hope to see you at our next event! |
